Questions

Why a radio when I have a phone?: In a long power cut mobile masts lose power and the internet goes down. Broadcast FM/AM radio keeps working, and it is how authorities share updates.
How long does it play after winding?: Roughly one minute of winding gives several minutes of radio or light. A full USB or sunny-day charge lasts for hours.
Is it on the official checklist?: Yes. Government emergency advice lists a battery or wind-up radio, a torch and a charged power bank among the essentials for 72 hours without help.
